"Every American has a right to healthcare.  Our nation is rich enough for everyone to have adequate care."  -- Jenna Marie

Big Data and Machine Learning techniques are changing the medical research landscape.  Building a database of patient DNA samples linked to a patient's medical records would drastically increase the speed with which scientists can develop new therapies," stated Jenna Marie.

Unlike Rep. Vicky Hartzler, Jenna Marie has actually owned and run a successful business.  Each one of us participates in the global economy.  Jenna Marie's current business venture is a global technology startup with operations in the US and Canada.  Jenna Marie knows first hand the challenges that businesses face in the modern economy.

Jenna Marie's background includes over 20 years of information technology experience and she her undergrad is in Economic Geography.  Jenna Marie has used these skills to design a platform that will dramatically increase the economic output of Missouri's rural economy.

Growing Jobs

Today's economy requires continuous skills learning for workers whether you are working from home, in a cubicle, or on the job site.  In construction for example, the Internet of Things (IoT) and mixed reality systems are forcing workers to learn new ways of doing things.  In manufacturing today, it's all robots.  In transportation, it's all about autonomous vehicles.

"I have often wondered why we don't teach people in school about our American capitalist system and how to compete in it.  Too many women simply do not know that they can become a CEO of a startup and change their lives," stated Jenna Marie.

Jenna Marie favors increasing the federal budget for worker training.

Jenna Marie supports public education and believes that every child has a right to education.  Jenna Marie is a former member of the Technology Committee at Francis Howell School District in St. Charles County.

A New Deal For Rural America

Jenna Marie's New Deal for America modernizes the way we distribute food to table through technological innovation and sustainable agriculture while solving rural poverty at the same time.

The nation's food supply relies on Missouri farmers.  Jenna Marie grew up down the block from a dairy farm.  Each weekend, her and her sister would walk to the farm and buy fresh milk and eggs.  Nothing tastes better than farm fresh milk and eggs in the morning.  Jenna Marie is very supportive of family farms and will do everything she can to help them.

Jenna Marie doesn't support unnecessary food safety regulations that often burden small and medium sized farms.

Family & Children & LGBTQ

Jenna Marie is very supportive of families and children and strongly believes that every child deserves a public education including children with disabilities.

"Being a product of both private and public schools, I believe that parents should have local control over what happens in their district, but at the same time some districts simply cannot afford to provide the same quality education without federal subsidies to even the playing field.  Parents that have money and wish to send their child to a private school is encouraged to do so.  However, I will not support legislation that gets these parents out of their financial obligation to support public education," stated Jenna Marie.

Jenna Marie fully supports getting more children and pregnant women access to healthcare under CHIP & CHIPRA

Women's Advocacy

Jenna Marie has been a very public advocate for equality for women.  While some women think we have won, Jenna Marie has publicly called out corporations for not having enough women on their boards and for not hiring enough women employees.

Having a STEM degree herself, Jenna Marie knows first hand the issues that women face in a male-dominated field.

"The 9 to 5 workday which has now become a continuous workday thanks to mobile phone technology was created by men, for men.  As women, we have an opportunity to change the employment landscape leading to better work-life balance," said Jenna Marie.

Jenna Marie was the first generation in her family to not be in the military.  Every branch denied her service due to medical reasons.  Instead, Jenna Marie served the military in a civilian capacity by teaching the US Army Cyber Warfare team, writing software to connect the US Army Recruiting website to the medical exams system, and training members of the US Air Force and Minnesota National Guard.

"Many of my friends served in the military dating back to the war with Panama.  I have seen the emotional toll that armed conflict takes on our veterans.  A good friend of mine suffers from PTSD related to his service in Iraq and Afghanistan.  We need to help these veterans get access to the healthcare they require," stated Jenna Marie.

Jenna Marie supports infrastructure improvements because she knows that improving infrastructure means job creation for working families.

Jenna Marie fully supports the continued development of autonomous vehicle technology and supports funding the new Hyperloop technology which has the potential to make our country more effective at transporting goods from one side of the country to the next.

The Environment

Jenna Marie grew up hunting and fishing.  She first learned how to properly care for and shoot a rifle at the age of 9.  Without the environment, there would be no healthy fish, birds, and mammals.  Jenna Marie has been a life-long advocate of protecting the environment and believes that every American has the right to clean air, clean water, and clean tillable soil.  Jenna Marie supports funding to assist property owners with cleaning up "brown sites."  Jenna has an environmental degree from Northern Illinois University (BS Geography).

Climate Change

Climate change is real and Jenna Marie has experienced it first hand while living in the arctic where they are experiencing unusually warm weather and the continual degradation of the polar ice cap.  Jenna Marie first started studying the environment while majoring in Geography back in 1987.  Environmentalists claimed at that time that humans were doomed if the global temperature increased 1 degree.  Thanks to policy changes in the United States, the air is much cleaner than it was in the 1970s.

Jenna Marie disagrees with President Trump's decision to walk away from the Paris Accord.

Green Energy

Jenna Marie supports green energy projects such as hydroelectric plants, wind farms, biomass energy plants, biofuels, and natural gas energy plants.  Jenna Marie does not support bailing out a failing coal industry.  Jenna Marie also supports incentives for commercial property owners to install electric charging stations in their parking lots.

Electric Vehicles

What was once considered only a future possibility has become mainstream reality.  Jenna Marie favors the continual replacement of fossil fueled vehicles with electric and hybrids.

Hunting & Fishing

Jenna Marie grew up hunting and fishing.  Her father, a US Navy Veteran, taught her how to properly hold and shoot a rifle when she was 9 years old.  Her grandfather, a retired operating engineer from the IUOE, taught her how to fish.

Seniors & Disabled Americans

Jenna Marie believes that seniors should be honored and respected in modern American society.  Too often, children do not have adequate senior role models while seniors can become socially isolated.  Jenna Marie will protect Social Security and Medicaid.

Animal Welfare Act

Companion animals are a very important part of many people's lives and provide emotional support to their owners.  Missouri, is one of the leading states with "puppy mills".

Jenna Marie supports:

  • Toughening the laws on the importation of puppies into the US.
  • Continuation of USDA oversight
  • Increasing the funding to hire more inspectors.
  • Increasing the size of the cage requirements which currently is only 6 inches longer than the length of the dog.
  • Increasing penalties for violators

Police Training

It seems like every week there is another murder of an innocent person perpetrated by the police.  For example, on the morning of July 28, 2017, police went to the wrong house and shot the homeowner.  In recent months, this appears to be independent of race as the victims come from all races, but what is also apparent is that the police seem to be unable to control themselves.  We need a federal solution to tackle this problem.  Citizens should not be afraid to drive to the grocery store for fear that they will be shot by their local police department.

At the same time, local police continue to face an ever increasing risk that they will be attacked by suspects that can outgun them.

Protecting and Defending America

Jenna Marie supports a strong defense for the United States.  One of her favorite experiences was travelling along I 70 when the military aircraft flew overhead.  The entire expressway stops and everyone gets out of their cars to watch the aircraft.  The sound is amazing, the adrenalin runs right through your veins.  Her father and grandfather are veterans of the US Navy and her maternal grandfather and his brother were veterans of the US Army.  Due to medical reasons, Jenna Marie was rejected from every branch of the military, so she spent her energy serving her country as a civilian military information technology trainer.

Anti-Terrorism and Global Threats

Jenna Marie was trained in anti-terrorism strategies while working at the Ameren UE Nuclear Power Plant in Callaway, MO.  Terrorists abroad are a real threat and the United States has important obligation to fight this terrorism in other parts of the world, especially places where terrorist organizations have historically been provided with aid and comfort while planning attacks against our homeland.  She believes we cannot allow our necessary focus on these non-traditional threats to distract us from maintaining our nuclear deterrent and readiness in the face of more traditional foes. And she supports a tough military stance against nations that threaten the strategic interests of the United States such as North Korea, Iran, China, and Russia.

Cyber Warfare

The battlefield has changed over the years and cyber warfare can prove to be just as important as traditional engagement strategies.  Jenna Marie trained the US Cyber War Fare team to protect the United States in 2013 which included team members from the Asia-Pacific Theatre to the Kuwaiti Theatre.  Jenna Marie supports continuous cyber warfare training for our military.

Advanced Weaponry

History has proven that civilizations survive through the advancement of military technologies.  Jenna Marie supports funding of research and development (R&D) activities to keep the United States ahead of the rest of the world.

Support for Military Spouses and Children

Jenna Marie will always support programs that provide support for military families while serving.  It is important that spouses and children of our service members are taken care while being deployed.  We are all in this together.

Foreign Policy

The United States is a global leader in wealth and has the most powerful military in the world.  It is essential that the United States lead through collaboration with our global allies.  The President believes in offending every nation on the planet.  Jenna Marie will use her voting power to control the American President.  If the president insists on disgracing the office, then we must take away the keys.

Livable Wages For Working Families

Jenna Marie comes from a working family.  Her father, step-father, father-in-law (journeyman electrician), her aunt, and her uncle were all members of the IBEW.  Her grandfather was a member of the IUOE his entire life working for the Chicago Public Schools.  Jenna Marie was also a former staffer for former House Minority Leader and Presidential Candidate, Richard A Gephardt.  Jenna Marie knows how important livable wages and benefits are for working families.

In 1992, Jenna Marie had a paid internship at the Village of Orland Park in Illinois and she was paid $7/hr.  That was 25 years ago!  At the time, her rent was $650 for a 1 bedroom apartment.  During those 25 years, rents, food prices, gas prices, and prescription drugs have dramatically increased in price.  To continue to pay Americans less than $15/hr. is unconscionable.

Workers should not have to work two jobs just to make ends meet.  America is the wealthiest nation in the world and if you work a 40 hour work week, you should not be living in poverty.  With an average of 20 to 25% of children living in poverty within the 4th Congressional District, it is immoral for the people of our community to be paid wages that are so low.
When you think about it, the minimum wage is a privilege to an employer.  Minimum wage jobs require the minimum amount of job skills.  Jenna Marie believes that if minimum skills are required then these jobs should be made available on a first come first serve basis and preference should be given to workers that are unemployed.  This is similar to union workers who sign the job book.  Chronically unemployed professionals with families may desperately need a job even if it is minimum wage.  Today, employers like McDonald’s incentivize their managers for employee retention.  Therefore, it is extremely unlikely that an overqualified worker would be able to get one of these jobs.  This approach would reduce the unemployment rate.

Federal contractors should provide each employee health care insurance and a livable wage.

Jenna Marie supports increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.

Racial Equality

Jenna Marie grew up on the South Side of Chicago, one of the most racist communities even today and has been a victim or racial violence herself.  Unfortunately, racial discrimination has been a part of American history since the beginning.  Jenna Marie believes that all Americans were created equal and are equally entitled to share in the American Dream.

Any true American believes that every American has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Let me say that again in a different way.  Don't proclaim to be an American if you do not support racial equality.

Jenna Marie is outraged by President Trump's treatment of black, hispanic, and native american voters and doesn't believe that Trump's position is reflective of the majority of Americans.  As the fight for racial equality continues, Jenna Marie will continue to support equality for all races.

Rep. Vicky Hartzler, the incumbent proclaims to be just like Trump.  We must remove Ms. Hartzler from office in order to stop racial discrimination in America.

As a transgender American, Jenna Marie faces discrimination, cyber attacks, and threats on a regular basis.  She knows what it is like to be a victim of discrimination in employment, housing, healthcare, and access to public services.  When things were at their worst and Jenna Marie was being stalked by an anti-transgender hate group, it was the black community that invited her to join the Shiloh Baptist Church in Anchorage, AK.

Jenna Marie will never forget that experience and how welcoming the people were.  During that experience, she witnessed first hand how the white and black communities worship differently and the women of the church taught her how to dance traditional dances.

Jenna Marie believes that the voters of her district are electing her to represent the citizens of the United States.  As such, her responsibilities rely on her conviction to support enforcement of immigration laws and support the enforcement of our border.

2nd Amendment

Jenna Marie first learned how to use a firearm at the age of 9.  Throughout her life, she has owned several guns including an Remington 870 that she used for Goose hunting while living in rural Wisconsin.  Clearly, she would have liked to upgrade to a Bernelli.  A former member of the NRA, Jenna Marie supports the 2nd Amendment rights that she believes includes everyone's right to purchase and own a firearm.  Jenna Marie does not believe that felons should be afforded the opportunity to own a firearm.

LGBTQ Rights

Jenna Marie believes that we were all created equal and that LGBTQ people were "born that way".  She believes any attempt to discriminate against LGBTQ people is simply wrong.  Jenna Marie has a personal relationship with God and she is comfortable with the relationship between her religion and LGBTQ people.  She believes that it is wrong for Rep. Hartzler to apply her religious views upon others as there should be a separation between Church and State.  The government should stay out of people's bedrooms.
