Increasing Global Competitiveness of American Companies

Trump is simply wrong about the economy and we can expect America to be headed for bankruptcy just like his failed businesses.  Again, Rep. Vicky Hartzler is just like Trump.  Countries like China, India, and Canada are aggressively competing for our business and our jobs.  To remain competitive, businesses need to remain competitive with a highly skilled and trained workforce and investment in technology and innovation.  Jenna Marie's economic plan calls for increasing the budget for job skills training, increasing accessibility to higher education, creating Rural Business Innovation Centers(RBIC's) to help solve rural poverty and foster innovation, and to increase the minimum wage to $15 for those who are not fortunate to participate in the stronger paying sectors of our economy.  Startup farms will offer new economic opportunities to Americans to sell their produce domestically and internationally.

Jenna Marie is a huge advocate for support services for business startups.  After reading a biography about Harry S Truman when she visited the Presidential Library, Jenna Marie realized that before the manufacturing economy took hold during the 20th century, Americans largely participated in an entrepreneurial economy.  With entrepreneurship, comes freedom and liberty.

Rural Business Innovation Centers (RBIC's)

Countries like Canada, India, and China are investing heavily into innovation.  In order to compete, Americans need to have access to the same level of business innovation resources.  To close this gap and even the playing field for American entrepreneurs, Jenna Marie has proposed the creation of Rural Business Innovation Centers (RBIC's) designed to assist entrepreneurs in taking ideas and transforming them into minimum viable products (MVP's).  The centers are more than just a set of programs.  RBIC's are a place where communities come together to participate and share in the exchange of entrepreneurial ideas and help foster innovation.  Key components of the RBIC's include:

  • Collaborative work space
  • Business plan assistance
  • Business skills training
  • Mentorship
  • Events
  • Free internet connectivity
  • Conference room capabilities

Diversity in Business Ownership

LGBTQ Owned Businesses

Jenna Marie was one of the first transgender owned business enterprises certified by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).  Jenna Marie supports the continuation of diversity supplier programs including those for federal contracting.  She believes that diverse supplier programs are a significant contributor towards achieving economic equality.

Women Owned Businesses

Jenna Marie has been a continual advocate and mentor for women wishing to start a business.  Women are often discouraged from realizing their dreams.  Jenna Marie is here to tell women that the world awaits your next great business idea.  Jenna Marie believes that business ownership is an alternative that can improve the lives of women when compared to the constraints of having a full-time job.  Business ownership allows women to set the rules and the schedules.

Raise the Minimum Wage to $15/hr.

Jenna Marie would vote to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr.

Support for Capitalism

Jenna Marie supports private ownership and private enterprise within a capitalistic economic system therefore, Jenna Marie is a "Progressive".  Progressive economic policies are about evening the playing field so that more Americans can realize the American Dream.  Jenna Marie believes that we need to teach Americans more about how to succeed in a capitalistic system and is surprised at how many Americans do not even know how to form a corporation.
