Jana's Law

Jana's Act is designed to protect parents from inappropriate behavior by child welfare agency employees.  Several states have granted these employees immunity from prosecution and civil suits if they lie.  Child welfare agency employees should be put on notice that if they fabricate evidence or commit perjury that the parents affected can sue for damages or prosecute the child welfare employee.  Jenna Marie supports Jana's Law.

Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP) & Pregnant Women (CHIPRA)

Jenna Marie fully supports:

  • Bringing healthcare to more children under the CHIP program.
  • Eliminating the waiting period for eligibility.
  • Supports eligibility for any child or pregnant woman, documented or undocumented.
  • Supports coverage for transgender children including surgeries and procedures and prescription drugs
  • Supports eligibility up to 300%
  • Believes that parents should not be denied access to the program for their children if they have seasonal income.  Sometimes, parents work seasonal jobs like construction workers where they make a significant amount of money in a short period of time, but rely on unemployment during the rest of the year.
  • Supports eligibility for state employee's children
